Get Involved
Any young person being out of education, employment and training and at an age where they are unable to claim benefits in this economic climate is extremely concerning. However, the most vulnerable of society – the homeless, those transitioning from being looked after into independence, young offenders, those with family breakdowns, from chaotic and abusive backgrounds are the most at risk in the current conditions.
It is difficult for any young person who is unemployed and not eligible to claim benefits. It is almost impossible for a young person with no support structure – those who have no family, no homes, and no help in an increasingly polarised society where the inequality between rich and poor continues to widen.
In a climate where executives argue over their bonuses and multi-million pound pensions, young people who have next to nothing rely on organisations such as Turnaround to help them not to get a head start in life, but just to get an equal life chance as the rest of society.
